One Year Later: Celebrating Charles & Erin’s Rainy Day Romance at The Barn at Lord Howe Valley
August 9, 2024 – Ticonderoga, NY
It’s been one whole year since Charles & Erin exchanged vows at The Barn at Lord Howe Valley - a day that began with stormy skies, but ended in pure magic.
Like many couples, Charles & Erin had envisioned sunshine, but what they received instead was something even more unforgettable. With umbrellas ready to go and hearts wide open, they leaned into the unexpected and created a celebration that was joyful, heartfelt, and entirely their own.
As their wedding coordinator, we were honored to help guide their day with love, calm, and creativity- rain and all.
Rain Couldn’t Dampen the Love
From the start, Charles & Erin’s day was filled with deep emotion and special meaning. Even as we navigated the weather, their spirits never wavered- and neither did their guests’. The atmosphere inside the barn was glowing with warmth and love.
Sentiment in Every Detail
Charles & Erin’s wedding was full of thoughtful, meaningful touches that made guests feel connected and welcomed:
💖 Table Numbers with a Twist:
Each reception table featured a photo of Charles and Erin at the age that matched the number—so Table 5 had photos of each of them at age five. It was nostalgic, sweet, and such a conversation starter!
🕯️ Memorial Table:
A beautifully arranged tribute table honored their loved ones who couldn’t be there in person. It was a touching way to include their memory in the celebration.
🎈 Ceremony Bubble Exit:
After saying “I do,” guests showered the couple with bubbles, creating a joyful and whimsical exit moment. It was simple, playful, and made for stunning photos!
🍰 Dessert Table Delights:
Guests were treated to a delicious spread of cupcakes and delicate macarons—made by the talented Michelle Rafferty and Rachael Ellis. It was every bit as pretty as it was tasty!
🚪 Photobooth with Heart:
Instead of a generic backdrop, Charles & Erin chose a sentimental door from the early days of their relationship. It was more than just a prop—it was a beautiful symbol of where they started, and how far they’ve come.
One of the most memorable surprises came courtesy of their sweet parents: a visit from Mickey and Minnie Mouse! We helped coordinate the magical moment, and the joy on the couple’s faces when their favorite characters appeared was something we’ll never forget. We LOVE when families add surprise elements- it makes the day even more personal and fun.
A Love Story Worth Celebrating
Even through the thunder and downpours, Charles & Erin’s wedding was a powerful reminder that love isn’t about perfection—it’s about presence. About laughter during hiccups, kisses under umbrellas, and dancing with soaked hems and full hearts.
This was one of those weddings that reminded us why we do what we do. Not just to organize the details—but to protect the joy, the intimacy, and the magic of moments like these.
Happy Anniversary, Charles & Erin.
Your wedding day was unforgettable, and so is your love. Here’s to many more years of surprises, sweet moments, and Mickey Mouse-level magic. 💕
